RIMOWA and MYKITA Launch First Collaboration

Two of Germany’s most design-forward brands have come together for the first time. RIMOWA and MYKITA, each known for their technical precision and signature aesthetics, have collaborated on a new eyewear collection that merges their shared values of innovation, durability, and craftsmanship.

Handcrafted in Berlin and engineered between the cities of Cologne and Berlin, the collection features a minimalist design language shaped by each brand’s strengths: RIMOWA’s expertise in lightweight aluminium and MYKITA’s mastery of advanced eyewear construction. This partnership marks MYKITA’s first foray into aluminium eyewear, resulting in sunglasses that are strikingly modern, enduring, and versatile.

The collection is anchored by two design concepts. The HERITAGE series reinterprets classic panto, square, and aviator shapes through the lens of MYKITA’s stainless steel craftsmanship and RIMOWA’s anodized aluminium finishes. Each style is fitted with premium lenses offering 100% UV protection and coated for maximum clarity and durability. Meanwhile, the VISOR series introduces an ultra-lightweight shield design, defined by toric lenses that offer both horizontal and vertical curvature for a sleek, aerodynamic fit. Designed for movement, the VISOR line reflects the futuristic direction both brands continue to pursue.

To accompany the launch, a campaign starring German actor Udo Kier and actress Vicky Krieps plays on the passport photo process—this time with the twist of keeping their glasses on. Featuring three versions of each character—past, present, and a flamboyant alter ego—the visuals celebrate the individuality and versatility that this collaboration embodies.

The collection is now available online and in select RIMOWA and MYKITA stores.
