Belly Just Wants the Summer House and so Do We
The Summer I Turned Pretty has us all in a chokehold again. Between the love triangle, the drama, and the endless TikTok edits, it’s everywhere. Here’s a hot take though, Belly just wants the house.
Crazy? We know but we saw Meredith Lynch talk about this and are choosing to run with it because it’s the only way we can defend Belly’s constantly terrible decision-making.. She just wants to marry a Fisher so she can get the summer house.
As sweet as Jeremiah might have seemed in parts of season one, he is still quite evil. The fireworks scene? We’ll never forget it. He always knew Belly and Conrad had a thing, so why confess your love in the first place? Conrad isn’t a great brother either and he has his flaws but the choice between the two is obvious. As for Belly? Girl. We have nothing to say. You’ve left us speechless episode after episode.
Who’s the real heartthrob of the show? The house. Every time it flashes on screen, it’s starting to overshadow Conrad and Jeremiah entirely. He’s unproblematic, he’s recently fixed up (thanks Connie), he’s always there for her, and she has memories with him. Ocean views, wraparound porches, cosy beach-chic interiors, it’s the ultimate dream partner for life. If we were Belly, we’d probably be playing the long game for the keys too.
Here’s a look at our favourite areas in the Fisher summer house in Wilmington, North Carolina (aka Cousins Beach).

The pool is basically the show’s social stage. Half the drama, stolen glances, and “are they flirting or just being awkward?” moments happen right here. With its infinity-style edge and lush greenery backdrop, it screams suburban-meets-luxury escape.

Don’t talk to me, I’m busy staring at the kitchen. It’s clean but still so lived-in. The light cream cabinets, the brown wooden floor, the Smeg appliances, the backsplash behind the stove, the pot filler tap, and the window over the sink that faces the garden??

Look at him. The stonework, the greenery, the chic outdoor setup. It all says, “this isn’t just a summer house, it’s the summer house.” The kind of place where you want to host endless dinners, lazy coffee mornings, and, of course, confess your deepest feelings to your soon-to-be sister-in-law.
