I Gave My Scalp Extra TLC with Dermadrop
An editor from Cake The Mag was invited to experience Dermadrop treatment at Evolution Aesthetics Clinic in Dubai. Here’s her take.
I just wrapped up four sessions of Dermadrop for my scalp at Evolution Aesthetics Clinic in Dubai, and honestly, it felt like the reset I didn’t know I needed. When you live in the desert, spend time in the sun daily, and dye your roots every month, your scalp starts begging for attention. Add in the fact that I’m prone to eczema and scaly patches, and it was the perfect storm. My scalp felt dry, tight, and kind of neglected, so when the specialist suggested Dermadrop, I signed myself up for four sessions right away.
The treatment itself is surprisingly simple. Each session takes about 10 to 15 minutes, and it’s totally non-invasive. After my first one, I walked out with a refreshing, cooling sensation on my scalp that lingered for a few hours. For that first week, I thought I noticed a little boost in hydration, but I wasn’t sure if it was real or just me wanting it to work. The second session gave me the same feeling: nice, soothing, but nothing major just yet.
Session three is where the magic happened. Suddenly the scaly patches I’ve been dealing with were either much smaller or completely gone, and I noticed a real difference in my hair too. The frizz at the top of my head, which usually has a life of its own, had calmed down dramatically. It was one of those moments where you realise, okay, this is actually doing something. By the time I went in for my fourth session, me and the specialist agreed the progress was quick and that four was more than enough.
It’s been two weeks since I wrapped up, and the results have stuck around. My scalp feels more hydrated than it has in ages, and the frizz at my roots is still under control. There’s something so satisfying about taking care of the part of your body you usually ignore. We’re so busy obsessing over serums and moisturisers for our faces that we forget our scalp is skin too. If healthy hair starts at the scalp, then we need to stop treating it like an afterthought.
Would I do this again? Yes. Do I feel like Dermadrop is an absolute must? Probably not. You can survive without it but it does feel like a little luxury for your scalp and the kind of love and care it rarely gets. For me, it was like pressing refresh on my scalp after a long summer of travel and heat. Think about like this: we go for facials to boost the love we already give our skin, it only makes sense to do the same for our scalp.
