Lady Bird is a Neighbourhood Spot Worth Claiming

The following is a review of 25 Jump Street’s Lady Bird written by an editor of Cake The Mag.

After a long workday in DIFC (Dubai International Financial Centre), Lady Bird at 25 Jump Street felt like the right place to wind down. We went straight from work hours into relax mode, looking for a place that would let us ease into the evening with a drink and something comforting on the table. The space strikes that balance between polished and approachable, making it easy to settle in without feeling like you need to dress up too much.

What really set the experience apart was how personal it felt from the very start. After scanning a QR code, we were taken through a short questionnaire asking about our day and how we were feeling. Based on our answers, a drink was recommended to match our mood and energy. There was something comforting about sipping a cocktail that felt intentionally chosen for you, rather than randomly ordered.

We started with the Artichoke Dip and the Lobster Roll, which were perfect for a slightly chilly evening. The dip arrived warm and indulgent, instantly cosy, while the lobster roll was light yet satisfying, striking a nice contrast. For mains, we went with the Steak et Frites and the Seabass Fillet, and both delivered effortlessly. The seasoning was spot on across the board. The steak was tender and juicy, while the seabass was impressively soft, breaking apart with each bite. Simple dishes, executed so confidently.

We ended on a high note with the Pain Perdu, and honestly, it tasted just as good as it sounds: “Golden brioche soaked and caramelized with caster sugar, vanilla caramel, orange blossom cream”. Soft and pillowy on the inside with a satisfying crunch on the outside, the caramelised brioche paired beautifully with the caramel and cream.

We can easily see Lady Bird becoming a go-to for those working and living nearby. It has that rare mix of convenience and comfort, making it ideal for after-work drinks that turn into dinner without much planning. The atmosphere feels relaxed, the menu hits all the right notes, and it’s the kind of place you return to for those everyday evenings when you want good food, good drinks, and a space that helps you wind-down.
