Ray-Ban Meta Glasses Launch in the UAE

Meta Platforms, Inc. and EssilorLuxottica officially introduced the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses to the UAE during an exclusive launch event on May 7 at Gitano Beach Club in Dubai. The event unveiled the brand’s latest in wearable technology—smart eyewear designed to capture high-quality photos and videos hands-free, play music with open-ear audio, and access built-in Meta AI for real-time assistance.

The glasses, which become available in stores across the UAE on May 12, are equipped with a 12MP ultrawide camera for immersive 1080p portrait video capture. Users can livestream directly to Instagram or Facebook for up to 30 minutes, toggling between their glasses and phone camera, offering a new way to share unfiltered, first-person moments. The audio system includes open-ear speakers with enhanced bass and noise suppression, along with five microphones that support easy transitions between calls and music without blocking out ambient noise.

Voice-enabled Meta AI allows wearers to ask questions, receive directions, translate signs, or even get recipe ideas using the command “Hey Meta.” The AI also controls camera functions and audio settings and continues to improve over time via regular software updates. A live translation feature, supporting conversations in Spanish, French, Italian, and English, will roll out in the UAE later this spring.

The Ray-Ban Meta collection comes in multiple colours, lens variations, and frame styles including the original Wayfarer and new Skyler frame, which offers a more inclusive fit. Lenses are available in prescription, sun, clear, polarized or Transitions®, all delivering high-performance clarity and protection. Each pair comes with a portable charging case and pairs with an updated Meta View app for importing, editing, and sharing content. Users can also manage multiple glasses through the app on both iOS and Android.

Starting at AED 1,330, the Ray-Ban Meta glasses blend everyday functionality with timeless design. The launch also kicked off a month-long Ray-Ban takeover at Gitano Beach Club, running until June 5, where guests can expect branded experiences.
