What Men Are Wearing and Why We Love It
Men’s fashion hasn’t looked this good in over a decade. What used to feel like a narrow lane of jeans, t-shirts, and the occasional tailored suit has exploded into a spectrum of aesthetics, from the cosy layers of grandpa core to the loud nostalgia of Y2K revival, from sleek minimalism to unapologetic maximalism.
Fashion for men today feels braver, bolder, and a lot more fun. There’s also a new softness in the mix, a subtle sense of femininity that used to be tucked away but is now proudly embraced. These styles don’t just make a statement, they say you’re intentional, well-groomed, and tuned in.
And then, of course, the accessories. This might just be the most exciting shift of all. Purses, bold jewellery, even nail art. We’re seeing men lean into details that were once considered off-limits. The old rules don’t apply anymore, and that freedom is redefining what style can look like.
The best part? There’s no one formula. Men are curating, experimenting, and mixing aesthetics to build looks that feel personal. It’s not about fitting into a box, it’s about picking and choosing what resonates. Below, we break down the styles we’re currently loving and how you can make them your own.
Leather Lover
Nothing says rebellion and confidence quite like leather. Whether it’s a bomber jacket, trousers, or a full head-to-toe look, leather has a way of slipping into every style and making it bolder. And no artists prove this better than A$AP Rocky, Felix from Stray Kids, and YUNGBLUD, each from completely different music genres, yet each making leather distinctly their own.
A$AP Rocky and Felix both step out in full leather fits, but the vibe couldn’t be more different. A$AP leans into his signature drip with oversized gold rings, straight-cut sleeves, grills, and braids, while Felix goes minimal with rolled-up sleeves, platinum blonde hair, and just the right touch of pared-back jewellery.
Then there’s YUNGBLUD, who never misses a chance to showcase his rockstar aesthetic. Think cheetah-print vest, leather trousers, stacks of silver hardware, and his slicked-back hair tying it all together — pure, unapologetic chaos in the best way possible.

Grandpa Core
Grandpa core isn’t defined by a single look. It’s when pieces you’d imagine your grandpa wearing, both in his prime and in his older years, collide to create something entirely new. It’s equal parts lounge and suave, comfortable yet confident, a little ironic but also undeniably stylish. Grandpa core can be about mixing prints, going monochrome, or leaning into both dressed-up and dressed-down moments at once.
Take Justin Bieber, for example. He’s spotted in an oversized short-sleeve shirt, jorts, boot socks, loafers, a snapback, and orange glasses. On paper, it shouldn’t work but in reality, it looks flawless. He nails that sweet spot between effortless and intentional, embodying the essence of grandpa core with ease.
Then there’s MGK, who recently won the Style Icon Award at Daily Front Row. It’s a well-earned title, especially in his Lost Americana era where he’s embraced pure maximalism. Pairing checkered trousers with a striped polo and Converse sounds chaotic, but somehow it all comes together, giving the energy of your grandpa’s college photos when he was still breaking hearts.
Harry Styles has also mastered this space, borrowing from old-school aesthetics and flipping them into something aspirational. In this particular fit, he’s pure “rich grandpa” energy: a long vertically striped blazer, navy bottoms, brown boots, and a white vest, elevated by a blue scarf and oversized sunglasses. The look screams, “I own a yacht my grandkids borrow on weekends”.

Maximalism
Maximalism is not for the faint of heart. It’s fashion that rejects quiet dressing and instead thrives on boldness, colour, print, and drama. This doesn’t mean just piling the loudest pieces together and hoping it works. There’s a fine line between playful excess and chaos, and when it tips into messy or sloppy, the magic is lost. When it’s done right though, it’s electric. It’s the kind of fashion that makes you stop, stare, and maybe even smile. It’s super brave and exciting, and probably our current favourite aesthetic of all.
We have to talk about MGK again because he’s truly living and breathing maximalism. He’s fearless with colour and print, just as comfortable in a cropped top as he is in an oversized tee, and he switches between fitted patterned pants and baggy jeans dripping in chains. In this look, red runs through almost everything but what really ties it all together are the red stripes in his hair and the mesh sleeves layered over his tattoos.
Chris Brown has been playing in the maximalist space for a while. Even when the whole fit isn’t loud, there’s always a standout piece that makes noise. This look goes all in with a patched-up bomber jacket, jorts, a cap, and even socks and shoes that are embellished. It could’ve so easily tipped into “try-hard,” but instead there’s a real harmony in the chaos.
And then there’s Sang Heon Lee, proving maximalism doesn’t always mean going completely over the top. His leopard print pants, patched hoodie, and camo cap feel bold but grounded. It’s expressive without being overwhelming – proof that even in maximalism, balance is everything.

Feminine Flex
One of our favourite shifts in men’s fashion lately is the embrace of femininity. Whether it’s in the structure of the outfit, the fabrics being used, or the way accessories are layered in, men are taking pieces that were once labelled “feminine” and making them entirely their own. From cropped tops to baby tees, flared pants to mesh fabrics, and charms to pearls.
Take Central Cee. On paper, it’s a simple fit: layered pink tops, a pastel blue beanie. But then you spot the charms and chains hanging from his jeans, pinks, blues, even heart shapes, and suddenly the look flips from basic to preppy with personality.
Alton Mason, on the other hand, is rarely shy when it comes to pushing fashion boundaries. This has to be one of his more “toned-down” looks, but a fitted mesh long-sleeve still feels bold. Paired with a jewelled belt and a cross necklace, it’s the perfect example of how one or two standout details can transform an outfit.
And then there’s Lewis Hamilton, who never leaves the house without making a statement. The star of this fit is a long vest top with a feminine shape that almost creates the illusion of curves at the hips. Worn with baggy trousers, it feels avant garde but completely true to his aesthetic. And of course, the beaded necklace (one of our favourite accessories men have embraced) finishes the look in the best way possible.
