adidas Originals and Willy Chavarria unveil SS25 collection
adidas Originals and designer Willy Chavarria return with the Spring/Summer 2025 collection, delivering a bold mix of ready-to-wear apparel and footwear across two product drops in May and July. The collaboration continues to blur the lines between sport and streetwear, drawing on Chavarria’s distinctive approach to clean silhouettes and detailed design.
The footwear spotlight falls on a reimagined version of the classic adidas Jabbar sneaker. Originally created in 1978 for basketball icon Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the updated styles—the Chavarria Jabbar Low and Chavarria Jabbar Dress—revive a legacy silhouette for a new era.
Apparel from the first release includes standout items such as the Chicano Sweatshirt, Chavarria Football Jersey, Heavy Weight Hoodie, Track Jacket, Wide Leg Trackpant, Polo, Gym Short, and the Signature T-shirt. In July, the second drop introduces fresh pieces like the Poplin Trackpant and Top, a Basketball Jersey, and new Gym Shorts, continuing the collection’s fusion of athletic heritage with contemporary fashion.
Alongside the product launches, the SS25 campaign explores themes of identity and cultural legacy, rooted in the Chicano communities of South Central Los Angeles. Shot by Mexican-American photographer Carlos Jaramillo, the visuals highlight moments of love, family, and tradition. Featured figures include basketball players Candace Parker and Skyy Clark, and actor Alejandro Speitzer.
