Converse and Kenzo Team Up for Chuck 70 Collection
Converse and Kenzo have joined forces for the first time to release a limited footwear collection that brings together the streetwear sensibility of Converse with the vibrant energy of Kenzo. At the centre of this collaboration is the Chuck 70, a silhouette long associated with American heritage, now reimagined through the artistic direction of Nigo.
Known for his deep appreciation of all-American style, Nigo leans into the nostalgia of the '80s, both visually and structurally. The campaign assets capture this theme through a collegiate lens, depicting youthful freedom and a carefree campus spirit. The result is a collection that feels familiar yet current, bridging past and present with intention.
The footwear lineup includes one Chuck 70 Hi and two Chuck 70 Low styles, all covered in Kenzo’s all-over Hana Leopard print—an archival motif that echoes the bold graphics of the 1980s. These patterns also serve as a nod to Converse’s early forays into fashion-forward design. Construction details have been modernised while remaining grounded in vintage appeal: geometric winged stitching, screen-printed patches with worn-in effects, and a pinched collar on the high-top all reinforce the throwback mood.
Small but deliberate accents—like the outsole inlay of Kenzo’s boke flower and a branded charm—add further dimension to the design. Colourways are clean and statement-making: the Chuck 70 Hi arrives in Sweet Corn, while the Lows are offered in Pink Cosmos and Cypress.
