H&M HOME's First-Ever Furniture Collab Is With Kelly Wearstler

H&M HOME has announced its first-ever furniture collaboration, and it's with Kelly Wearstler, the Los Angeles designer behind Proper Hotels, Viceroy properties, and the Four Seasons Anguilla.

The collection lands on September 3 with 29 interior pieces plus an 8-piece ready-to-wear capsule, rolling out across 28 markets, with the fashion side sold online-only.

H&M HOME, launched in 2009, has spent its entire existence doing tasteful, faceless homeware while the mothership next door (H&M’s fashion arm) built a whole cultural playbook out of exactly this move. This is HOME finally getting invited to the party. Wearstler herself has said she wants to be in the same boat as Karl Lagerfeld and Martin Margiela.

The hero pieces are all built around modularity. The POMA accent chair pairs into a loveseat. The SOLUNA lounge chair multiplies into a sofa. The ORTRA sofa table expands into a full round surface. Lighting comes in three families (EMERA, AUREX, MORRA), each in two sizes; objects include COVA candlesticks and a two-size CURVA vase.

The fashion capsule is smaller, eight pieces, six silhouettes, but it's where Wearstler's love of texture and contrast shows up most literally: a coated cotton trench with a layered leather collar, a sequin skirt, a vase-printed slip dress that nods straight back to the CURVA on the homeware side.
