Missoni's Resort Club Has Landed on Egypt's North Coast
Missoni is opening a Resort Club at Villa Coconut Hotel inside Zoya Ghazala Bay on Egypt's North Coast this summer, in partnership with developer LMD.
It's the Italian house's first Resort Club in Egypt and its first anywhere on the African continent. Worth being precise though: not a MENA first. Missoni beat Egypt to the region by roughly two years, taking over DRIFT Beach at One&Only Royal Mirage in Dubai back in October 2024 and this is it’s expansion into North Africa.
What's landing at Villa Coconut is the format's usual trick: Missoni's palette (emerald, lime, turquoise, yellow) and zigzag motifs across sunbeds, umbrellas, towels and cushions, a seasonal skin. A dedicated boutique, run by Nile Projects (Egypt's Burberry/Ferragamo/Sandro operator since 1972), stocks the full ready-to-wear-to-homeware range.
The bigger story is Zoya Ghazala Bay itself. LMD's 148-acre, ~EGP 6bn flagship, built around a “floating” layout so every unit gets a sea view, positioned as a lifestyle hub. And that lands inside “Yalla Sahel,” this summer's Sawiris-backed push to turn the North Coast into a year-round destination (Amr Diab, Elissa, Cairokee on the lineup), riding a wave of Gulf capital (ADQ's $35bn Ras El Hekma project) pouring into the coast. Egyptian brands (Okhtein, Frillu) have run seasonal pop-ups at Almaza Bay and Marassi before, what's new is a genuine international fashion house doing design-plus-retail-plus-hospitality as one.
